Have a Happy Christmas & peaceful New Year
As the working year comes to a close, it’s a great time to reflect on everything achieved in 2018. Whether you hit all your targets or not, no doubt there were a lot of lessons, learning curves and new knowledge accumulated.
Looking back can help you plan forward for 2019. Some tips on planning for 2019 in this article here.
I wrote the following article on a 15 minute reflection back in 2017. Still relevant and always useful. Have a read here.
If you’re thinking of goals / targets for 2019 over the holidays or early January, have a think about what ‘financial freedom’ would look like to you. What are you hoping to achieve by working your socks off all year?
This time of year is good to reflect on what truly matters. Why work all hours if we can’t keep our eyes on the prize? Are we spending enough time with our loved ones or are we busy being busy? I had to answer these questions for myself a number of years ago. For that reason and many more, I work with clients on ‘financial freedom’ goals. My note on financial freedom and why I work as I do is in this link.
Financial freedom goals are very personal. Have you defined yours? If not, perhaps over the holidays is the time while you have some head space.
May 2019 bring you peace and joy. Some quotes below that I like ;
“A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” Don’t get overwhelmed!
“Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one.” Make the most of each day.
“There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.” Learn the lesson and move on.
“Approach the New Year with resolve to find the opportunities hidden in each new day.” We can find something good if we look for it.
“You cannot prevent the birds of sorrow from flying over your head, but you can prevent them from building nests in your hair.” S**t happens, take whatever action you can to get out of it but don’t dwell.
“The most difficult battles in life are those we fight within.” Watch your internal dialogue!
“A man who chases two rabbits catches neither.” Stay focused.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS
Wishing everyone a peaceful New Year.
Wendy – signing off for 2018. Looking forward to enjoying the break with loved ones.
