Subsistence rate

Day allowances – 2 categories – out of the office between 5 and 10 hours and then over 10 hours (must be outside 8 km of the employee’s home or normal place of work – in the past this was 5km

Between five and ten hours €14.01

Ten hours or more €33.61

Watch for the band changes in mileage where company employees do a large amount of travel.

The amount of mileage accumulates each year. The amount of mileage accumulated by an employee between 1.1.17 and 1.4.17 will not be altered by the introduction of the new bands and rates. Mileage to date however, will count towards mileage for the year.

Revenue example – if you had claimed 1,400 km on 1.4.17, you then move to the new Band 1. Once you drive a further 100km, you then move to Band 2.

Please consult your financial advisor or your accountant if unclear about the rates of motor and travel expenses allowed by revenue.
